Negative transformation…
Back in the day, a photographer would load film into a camera. They would have only a handful of chances to get the image they were after. The image was in the minds eye of the creator. But not to be seen immediately.
The photographer would go to their room of creativity. Complete darkness. With extraordinary care and skill, the film would be removed from the camera. Loaded into a cannister. Chemicals added. Processed. When the time was right the film was removed. Washed clean. Dried.
The photographer could take what was called the ‘negatives’ to observe the results. However, as the name suggests, everyone was ‘negative’. Backwards. Distorted. Requiring that creative imagination again to visualise the ultimate result.
Now it gets beautiful. With delicate care the negative was positioned above the photographer’s special paper. Then, with absolute precision, a perfectly timed flash of light shined through the negative and on to the paper. The result? The image the creator needed.
We live in a world of negativity, don’t we? Try this. Let the light of the world shine through and delight in a different perspective. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
